That is the reason why the college doesn't have a record of the official waitlist movement and ALL is mentioned in the waitlist movement for all categories.

Thank you very much for the very useful info. I need a clarification:- How Minimum Final Composite Score for Shortlist (Call for Interview) is 53.50 for General Candidates which is higher than the Minimum Final Composite Score for Offered - General Category at 47.41 ?

ReplyDeleteHey DSK. No I have stated everyone who was there on the waitlist were offered admission. Now do remember for most colleges not everyone who gives an interview goes into a waitlist. Some also get a direct reject. So thus for IIM Amritsar, everyone from every category who was there on waitlist was offered admission. Thanks and do tell me in case any clarification is needed :)

DeleteHey. As per my knowledge generally colleges take scaled scores. But then that again depends on the college. The best people to solve this doubt of yours would be the admissions committee. Just drop them a mail and that should be sorted.

ReplyDeleteHey Somnil. That is absolutely possible. If the no. of students applying through EWS category have higher grades and percentiles then those in general then this happens. However, you can see not much of a difference there. Thanks :)
DeleteAS per goi reservation rules open seats are not reserved for general category and if a reserved category student has higher cs than general category last candidate than he should be alloted seats under general merit irresepective of his category. otherwise it would be like 100 % reservation .Sc clearly said open seats r not meant to be reserved for general category than how EWS cs is higher than general category can u please through light on this ? I have seen seat allocation in IITS and neet if u can get seat under general merit than u will be allocated under that only than why dont these amritsar follow it how is it even possible ? if the institute o is violating such than I need to file an inquiry against them how can ews cs go higher than GEN ? if even the initial shortlist criteria was same for both than all those who have cs greater thangeneral category students shouls be allocated under general merit .
DeleteHey Prabhat. There have been one or two more cases where I have seen this occurring. You may want to investigate this but this was provided to me by the institute under the RTI Act and I merely post the data. Thanks :)

ReplyDeleteHey. So what I received from the college as waitlist movement is that all the students who were there on waitlist last year were offered admission by the college. So since I do not have the exact no. I am also not in a position to confirm this said movement. Thanks !!!
DeleteHello Sir! I'm waitlisted at IIM Amritsar having General WL 291 for MBA core after 2nd list. I heard around 98 movement in 3rd list (not officially disclosed). Assuming my current WL is 193, what are my chances of conversion?

DeleteI would say it should be a convert in the subsequent lists. Although these statistics change every year. But plenty of people would be moving to better converts. All the Best :)

DeleteIIM Amritsar is asking an inordinate amount of INR 10000 for providing the data citing extra workers need to be deployed. I have filed in CIC but that process takes more than an year. So we would not be getting this data anytime soon sadly !!!

DeleteFor both the years that is pass out batch 23 and 24 I have filed a petition to the Central Information Commission as the institute is asking INR 10000 from me for provision of the data along with my aadhar card for God knows what. So it will take some time as this will have to go through a legal battle with the institute now. Thanks :)
