99 ST students were given admission but only 36 in class? Strange.
ReplyDeleteHello. This means that the others were offered admission to the institute but did not take the same. That is why while 99 were offered admission only 36 out of them accepted the offer. I hope this would clear the doubt. Thanks :)
DeleteDo iimb have waitlist movement?
DeleteRonit, you are truly doing a great job. Thanks for the statistics.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know that all the data presented above, especially the composite score cutoff for each of the rounds and the minimum CAT percentile of offered candidates, was available on the IIM B website during the admission process or you have fetched that from some form of RTI ?
Hey Prince.
DeleteThanks a ton for the appreciation. :)
The composite score cutoff are generally never available publicly and to get the same an RTI needs to be filed. I too did the same to get the same. Thus, this data has been provided by IIM B itself under the RTI Act.
Hi Ronit, you are doing an amazing job. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI needed your advice on something, I'm a non engineering female fresher (commerce bg) with 96.82 percentile and 94+ across all section, my academic profile is 95/97.4/87.3. Is BLACKI or FMS possible?
Hello.
DeleteFrankly speaking from your profile you should received a call from BLACKI, though A seems a bit difficult and B due to their high weightage on work ex generally. But nonetheless you should receive calls. FMS seems a bit difficult as generally it does give priority to female candidates but the no. of seats as compared to IIMs is the culprit here. But one thing is for sure, you will definitely get into on the top institutes if you do well in interviews. All the Best :)
Hi Ronit,thanks for info.how
Deletemany number of seats were given in EWS category.I read they are 10% reserved ,but only class strength is 36 .

Chances of call from IIM A or B?
Hello.
DeleteFrankly saying A and B both are difficult. A asks for a stellar profile and B is more on work ex which though you have but even in NC-OBC the cutoff might not go this low for engg. candidates. Though you might have a slight chance from B but conversion might get difficult unless you give a stellar interview. All the Best :)
Thanks 😊

Chances of call from B?
Hey.
DeleteLooking at your profile I should say you have an amazing one. And with this profile, I would say you should have a chance at IIM B. But please note the scores and cs keep fluctuating each year so no one can give a 100 percent guarantee. All the Best :)
Hey did you get my prev comment? It showed server error
ReplyDeleteHey.
DeleteI think that might be some issue on the part of blogger. Would you please repost the same here. Thanks :)
Hi Ronit,
ReplyDeleteWould you have IIM-B (BA) data by any chance?
Hello.
DeleteI have filed to get this data and will post the same as soon as I receive the same from the institute. Thanks :)

Had average B and C interviews,...chance of direct convert?
Hello.
DeleteWith an average interview the chance of direct convert is slightly difficult. But still you should be able to convert these colleges in the later lists. However, this is again from my experience and cannot be predicted for sure. Thanks :)
Hey, do you have any idea around when will IIM B final results will be out?
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteTo say frankly that depends entirely on the institute but if I have to guess it should be somewhere around the second week of May. However, it can be early or late depending on the college. Thanks :)
Hey, Do you have any idea about IIMB PGPBA waitlist movement and stats ?
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteI have received the information about the same recently. I will publish it on the blog maximum by tomorrow since the post is already in works. Thanks :)
Hi, what is the waitlist movement for ST category in IIMB. Upto how much it goes.
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteThe above post contains a section that states the total no. of students that were offered admission by the institute in each category. Please refer the same. The ST category had a total of 99 candidates being offered admission by the institute.
Here it shows 47 students were offered a seat under EWS category while the final batch composition has 36 students. Does that mean a waitlist movement of 11? Moreover, how much movement can we be expecting this year? Thanks in advance Ronit!
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteTo understand the waitlist movement, you will need to get the total seats reserved for EWS category by the institute. That is because not necessarily the entire quota would have been filled by 36 students. But if there were 36 seats then it is correct to interpret a movement of 11.
Regarding waitlist movement prediction this year, frankly no one can be sure about the movement as it varies each year and depends on a lot of factors.
Thanks and All the Best :)
Hi Ronit, you are doing a great job.Thank you.
DeleteFinal offers for ews students was 47 offers, but why is class strength 36.did they offered remaining seats for waitlisted students.can you pls ask and do provide the information.
how are the minimum percentile for offered candidates so low as 88 for GEN?
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteBecause these candidates are those who come from a non-engg. background with some unique profiles and very high academics. Thanks :)
Hi ronit, Thanks for the information that U are providing
ReplyDeleteI would like to know that is iim b provide some buffer offer also, so like if there are 100 seats and they made offer to 105 and after that they are providing waitlist. Is this true?
Hey and I am glad you found the information useful :)
DeleteRegarding the buffer calls, IIM B replied back to me saying there were no buffer calls given when I got a response back from them. Thus, assuming the data was correct, the numbers after the actual no. of seats in each category was waitlist movement after the merit list. Thanks :)
Hey Ronit,
ReplyDeleteCan't see the waitlist movement data, can you post that as well? Is that signified by 297-194 = 103 for general? And subsequent number for other fields as well?
Hello.
DeleteThe institute did not provide me with the waitlist movement hence I could not post the same.
Regarding your calculation of subtracting the no. of students in current batch from total offers should be true if the institute did not give any buffer calls (which mostly it did not). Thanks :)
Hi Ronit can you please ask about ews waitlist movement in 2021-23 and this year too.there is no information available any where
DeleteHello sir
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing information.
Do iim banglore have waitlist movemen in ews categoryt?how many seats are given under ews category in iim banglore?
Hello.
DeleteAnd most welcome :)
Yes, of course EWS also does move but it is very less as compared to other seats. Also, the institute did not provide me the actual no. of seats in each category but generally EWS is 10 percent of the total no. of seats. Thanks :)
Hello Ronit! Thanks for all the info you share. If possible, can you find out the waitlist movement of IIMB, for EWS category. In the stats, it was mentioned that out of 47 offers, only 36 took admission.Does it mean that waitlist moves around 10 or 11. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHello and most welcome :)
DeleteThe EWS waitlist can be taken to be 11 as per your calculation only if the institute did not give any buffer calls (generally IIM B does not give buffer calls). Thanks and All the Best :)
Hi Ronit, thanks for info. how many seats are IIMB allotting for EWS category as clas strength was 36.
DeleteHello.
DeleteI do not have data related to the actual no. of seats but the EWS quota is 10 percent of the total seats in an institute as per the Government of India reservation rules. Thanks :)
Thank you Ronit you are helping a lot by providing information
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteMost welcome and I am glad candidates are getting the help the required through this blog. It actually feels great to know that I am playing my part by giving back to the MBA community in any small way I can. Thanks :)
Hi Ronit, thanks for information you are sharing.can't find waitlist movement of IIMB.can you please provide any information about waitlist movement of last year and this year.
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteThe reason I could not publish the waitlist movement is because the same was not provided to me by the institute itself. So you will need to use the data related to total offers only. Thanks and All the Best :)
Hello Ronit
DeleteThanks for the reply. I will do my best.

What percentile is necessary to get a call from BLACKIS and convert them if I don't have any workex??
Hello.
DeleteFirst of all, I say this to candidates from any category. Irrespective of anything your aim always has to be 99.9x. Never limit yourself by seeking minimum percentiles to convert institutes. Thus, would state the same to you. Go as high as you can to eliminate your competition and make chances of conversion to top institutes easier. Thanks, work hard and All the Best. Also, your profile is good !!!
Hi Ronit, thanks for providing information.what is waitlist movement of IIMB.
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteI would have published that as well but the institute did not provide me with the waiting list movements. Thus, I do not have the same. Thanks :)
Thanks for info, you are doing great job Ronit.Do you know when will waitlists released for iimb.converters of other iims are not able get any information
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteThank you so much for your words.
Also, regarding the dates of when the waitlists of various institutes might be released, I am sorry but I do not have the data related to the same. Thanks :)
Hi Ronit,is there waitlist movement in iimb last year
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteAs per the data given by the institute related to the current class composition and the total no. of candidates in each category there certainly was a movement in the waitlist. Thanks :)
Hi Ronit,thanks for providing information.
ReplyDeleteNumber of offers in ews category were 47,but class strength was 36.did they offered 11 seats for waitlisted candidates. No able to get information.please provide with information
Hello.
DeleteMost welcome.
The calculation done by you is correct in terms of the waitlist movement only on the condition that there were no buffer calls given by the institute. And generally IIM B does not give any buffer calls. Thanks :)
Hi Ronit, thanks for providing this information.
ReplyDeleteDo you have the data for 2022-24 batch too?
Hello.
DeleteThe data for 2022-2024 shall take some time as to get the full data the application can only be filed after admissions are closed. Thus, I shall be filing the same somewhere close to August which means data shall be available around September. Thanks :)
