Category-wise no. of candidates who filled the CAT form

Category-wise no. of candidates shortlisted for Interview Round

Category wise composite score cutoff for shortlisting to interview round

Category wise composite score cutoff for the final offer of admission

Category wise total no. of students offered the final offer of admission

NOTE -
  • The figures given for each category in the above table represent the total candidates who were extended the final offer of admission by the institute.
  • Thus, the numbers are a sum of the students in the merit list, buffer calls (if any are given by the institute), and the waitlist movement.

Category wise minimum CAT Percentile for Offered Candidates

NOTE -
  •  A major factor for the minimum CAT percentile being so high for the PGP-BA program is the no. of seats that are nearly 1/10th as compared to the Core MBA program of IIM Bangalore.
  • However, it also needs to be noted that these numbers are dynamic and change every year based on various factors such as the category-wise no. of seats every year decided by the institute, the size of the candidate pool, etc.

Category wise current Class Composition

  1. A total of 80 students were offered admission in the general category and the number of seats are 16. So the waitlist went upto 64 is this the correct conclusion for waitlist movement?

    1. Hello.
Well that might be a correct interpretation if the institute does not offer any buffer seats. If it does then actual waitlist movement is Total -(actual seats + buffer offers). If buffer offers are 0 then yes the movement was 64. Thanks :)

  5. Hey,

What was the waitlist movement for General category in 2021-23 batch?
Also what are chances of WL39 conversion?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello.
The waitlist movement is Total offers - (Buffer calls + actual seats). Also, for 39 the chances are very good. You will convert in mostly in the next few lists. Congrats and All the Best :)

  6. Thanks alot sir for the stats......I'm OBC 7/7/9(PSYCHOLOGY GRAD)......80-90 percentile would be enough to get some IIM calls??....or if I score above 95 percentile....can I get into any IIM BLACKIS

    1. Hello and most welcome :)
Coming to your score, if you are starting your prep for the upcoming CAT, I would suggest please don't limit yourself to 80-90 or any percentile. Your aim should always be at 99+. The simple reason being the higher the percentile the better are your chances of converting. Thus, please target 99+ only and nothing below that to get into BLACKI or any equivalent top institute. Thanks :)

  7. Hi ronit,
First of all thanks for the informations, I would like to ask that my IIM-B PGP waitlist is 7 in EWS and IIM B PGPBA waitlist is 8 (EWS) so what are the chances of conversion?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello and most welcome :)
IIM-B PGP should be cleared and PGPBA should also be cleared in the next couple of lists with the PGP being cleared much faster as compared to PGP-BA. Also, do note that this is as per my experience as no one can give 100 percent guarantee but you have very good chances of conversion. All the Best :)

  8. Hi, i got wl 15 in obc nc for pgpba.what are the chances for conversion and till which list?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hello.
It should be cleared by the next 2-3 lists. WL-15 in NC-OBC is a sureshot convert. However, please also note this is as per my experience over the years and thus I would say sureshot of 99 percent. All the Best :)

    1. Hello.
OBC-37 WL should give you a convert in the next few lists. However, please note I am saying this as per my experience and no one can give a 100 percent guarantee. Thanks :)

  10. Hi Ronit,
Thanks a lot for the valuable info.
What are the chances of IIMB PGPBA - NC-OBC WL 36?
I thought candidates infront of me - would have moved to IIM A/B/C-PGP. But, I guess - Deadline for A/B/C 1st offer is already over and when I called the office and they said that no one has withdrawn yet.
    Hence, I am bit worried.
Did admission office sent offer including bigger buffer candidates this year?
How long should I keep waiting for next offer list/s?

    1. Hello.
      Most welcome :)

WL-36 in NC-OBC should give you a convert. However, as you have stated the waitlist movement does depend on the buffer calls given. If they are in bulk the waitlist movement will be way lesser. However, as far as I have seen the top institutes do not generally give buffer calls and even if they do it is less.

So you should get a convert but will need to wait for a few more lists. Thanks and please note this is as per my experience as no one can give 100 percent surety. Thanks and All the Best :)

    2. Let alone - WL36 - When I called AO last week - They said that OBC list is full at WL-2 and they are not expecting any withdrawals and classes has already started.. I had WL25-30 and had high hopes of conversion.

    3. Hello.
As I had already mentioned the movement depends on buffer calls and this year as per what I have seen around it seems institutes like IIM-B too have given buffer calls. Not sure though we will need to check after filing an RTI as to how many students were given a convert and especially in the merit list.

    1. Hello.
The chances seem bleak with what I have seen this year it seems institutes like IIM-B too have added buffer calls. But prediction cannot be 100 percent sure. Though with the classes already beginning very low chances that candidates will withdraw. Thanks :)

    1. Hey.
If I go as per the trends over the years you are frankly at the edge with an equal chance of yes and no. However, I would still bet on your getting a convert by the last waitlist movement. Please note though this is as per my experience and can go other way as well. Thanks and All the Best:)

    1. Hey.
Frankly saying looking at the statistics and trends over the last couple of years, the chances look bleak. And even if you do convert it should be by the last waitlist. Though please note this is as per my experience and what I have seen over the years and can go other way as well. Thanks and All the Best :)

  15. Hi, PGPBA waitlist number 16 under ews category. Is there a chance?

    1. Hi Margi.
Looking at the statistics of the last couple of years, frankly saying it would be slightly difficult. If you see for the above post too it was 16 but includes merit list converts as well so waitlist would be probably in single digits. Though please note this is according to my experience over the years and can go other way as well which I would wish for. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hey.
Looking at the stats of the last couple of years, you might just be on the edge for conversion. However, you might need to wait till the last lists. Though please note this is as per my experience over the years and can go other way as well. Thanks :)

    2. Thank you for the information sir...
Approximately by when will the last list be declared...
I have converted SPJIMR but if I withdraw admission after 17th June the tuition fees will not be refunded..
In this case what should be the way forward...
      Please guide sir..

    3. Hey.
      Most welcome :)
The last list should be there by Mid June. The reason being institutes like Bangalore and Ahmedabad have a shorter list cycle since students hardly leave these institutes resulting in quicker filling of seats.

    1. Hey.
Frankly saying it might be slightly difficult to convert in ST as if you see the latest post even last year the movement was 0. However, this is as per what I have seen over the years and can go other way as well. Thanks and All the Best :)
