DeleteThere is no such grading definition on what scores would be given as the scores depend on a lot of factors. For instance every interviewer gives different scores, the same depends from institute to institute, etc. Hence, this being a truly open ended question no one can give an actual index on how scores could be given. How is it possible that for ews out og 1400 students 944 students were shortlisted..? Also out of 944 how many are from cap

DeleteSeeing your profile and the interview that you have given I would say you have a decent chance of conversion. Though merit might be difficult slightly but you should convert in the waitlist movement. Though please note that this is as per what I have seen over the years and experience. DeleteThough the CAT percentile might have been a slight issue but being a non-engg. and female works in your favor. Thus, according to my experience over the years you should get a convert but you might need to wait for a few lists before finally getting one. Thanks and All the Best :)

DeleteAlso, no not all shortlisted candidates are necessarily waitlisted. Above a certain threshold most colleges can also give a direct reject. But that depends from the institute to institute. :)

But coming to your profile I would say you should still have a chance of cracking at least one of the CAP calls. lowest percentile conversion for obc was 60 this year but previously it was around 74- 78. 60 percentile p to call bhi ni aata h. so can we trust the stats

DeleteThere are 3 points I would want to clarify on your question.
First - The minimum percentile required by NC-OBC for admission to the institute is greater than equal to 60 and not 74. Please check details of the SAP process that has been provided by the institute.
Second you do get calls on or above 60 as it is the official cutoff and as you can see there has also been conversion.
Third trusting these stats or not is a personal choice. However, this has been directly provided by the institute under official means and thus there is no point of questioning the same. Thanks :)

DeleteYes it does mean that when the list of candidates was prepared the last one to receive the admission offer was at 944 rank including all the waitlists and the merit list from the institute. Thanks :)

DeleteSee the point is every institute has its own set of criteria for selecting a candidate. So it is not necessary that if Kashipur has given you a rank within converting range others might be at the same level. However, the chances at baby IIMs are definitely more as compared to one at Kashipur. Thanks :)

DeleteThe EWS movement is generally lesser as compared to other categories since the seat reservation itself is less. Thus, frankly saying anything above 1000 would be difficult to convert. However, one also needs to note that the movement changes every year. Thanks and All the Best :)

DeleteIf I were to paint a frank picture, the chances are actually difficult to convert any of these. The reason being one is your profile especially the CAT score. Second the buffer calls have actually increased this year due to which the waitlist movement has reduced in a majority of the institutes. Thanks and All the Best :)
